The beginning of the American Space Age

We did it! It's finally done! The American Space Age has begun! We are officially a worthy contender in the Space Race!

These past few months have definitely been tough. We saw not only one, but two satellites launch from the Soviet Union. However, as much as it was discouraging seeing progress from the enemy, it did act as pretty good motivation pushing us towards what we have accomplished today. Don't get me wrong, this first American satellite in space is no small feat. But we have ways to go in this Space Race. After this big event, spirits in the Space Station are at record highs. I do hope we will be able to keep this morale and motivation up. I can't wait to see what we will launch next!
